Who books/promotes shows? What spaces or venues do you book shows at? What's the best way for bands to contact you? What type of shows do you usually book? Let's get a list going.

Hardcore, Pop-punk, assorted other punk related stuff.
I book shows at Now That's Class, Mahall's 20 Lanes, Dag House (but you are better off talking to Ty or one of the other residents), and occasionally Peabody's.

Hey man, I like that you made this forum. I book shows every now and then wherever I can, mainly for bands I'm friends with, but I'm always willing to make new friends. If I could set up something without having to ask someone to ask someone else to ask someone else about the date/space/yadayada and so on, I'd book shows much more often.

Technically, I don't book shows BUT I tend to get a lot of people asking me about booking shows since I primarily do the booking for TGIL, so, yeah.

I think we plan on making a joint e-mail for the main parties involved with the collective to make it easier for bands/people to have a point of contact for booking shows - at any rate, I book shows as well, punk/hardcore/indie/whatever - no real genre limitations or anything like that.

Yeah, we can still do that. Here's my one concern (didn't dawn on me 'til now): What happens if one of us reads through some emails, and doesn't respond to any of them? They wouldn't apear as new/unread mail the next time someone else logged in. Seems like it would be really easy for things to fall through the cracks.

It's just a thought. If you guys want, I'll still make one.

Elliott that's a good point - I think we'll just have to be careful and make it a very firm rule that any e-mails you read through and don't respond to, you must remember to mark as unread. We can also discuss setting up a folder/organization system (maybe a folder for each person, Elliott, Josh, Ty, etc.) and any e-mail that isn't filed away in a folder has yet to be handled.

Hi guys! My name is Chris. I live in Akron. I am the owner of Frankenstein Records in Canton Ohio. We have DIY youth/ all ages shows in our basement. No alcohol. It's called The Lab. We are still in the process of organizing the entire thing but have had some cool shows there already. We are really into punk/ indie/ and cool stoner/ thrash metal stuff. Check it out...

I book folk, indie folk, anti-folk, folk punk shows. House shows, or at a couple of bars. I only recently moved back to Cleveland, so I'm not doing a ton of booking, but can usually book any kind of acoustic show.
