I typed this stuff up in a rush last night, but these rules/guidelines can certainly be amended. Let me know if we've missed something vital.

1. Resist the urge to dump all over people's band's, zines and other creative output. There are plenty of other places on the internet for that sort of nonsense.

2. As always, remarks that stink of bigotry will be removed. You're entitled to your opinions; but racist, homophobic, or misogynistic rhetoric has no place here. No one wants to be the PC police, but your posts will be removed if they are discriminatory or antagonistic.

3. Under no circumstances is threatening someone okay.

4. Don't be a bully, don't be a jerk, and play nice. Ganging up on someone is cruel and counterproductive. We want this community to grow, and that won't happen if people are afraid of getting trampled by internet snobs. People will make mistakes, book crummy shows, and drop the ball on tasks they've volunteered for. If you've got something constructive to say, that might help someone be more productive in the future.

5. If you must talk about politics, religion, or your thoughts on some specific social issue, brace for impact. If someone disagrees with you, don't resort to labeling them a murderer, Nazi, typical-white-suburban-blablabla, or other hyperbolic name calling people resort to when they can't articulate their point.

6. If you offend someone and want to hash things out, think about doing so in real life. Suck it up and go talk to the person at a show. High school internet drama is juvenile (in not in that cool punk rock sorta way).
