Join a band! Haha

Okay, so I do some singing and guitar playing, but I've never actually played out or in a band. I wouldn't be opposed to doing an acoustic show, but I really want to get something hardcore/pop punk going, as either a four or five piece. This thread is for those of us who are not in a band but would like to be. This is where we can get shit going!

hey floralgreenispeople, i play bass and i'd be down to play some muzak! i've played in hardcore bands im open to pop punk. what are your influences? and when you say hardcore which bands do you mean?

When I say....

Pop punk = New Found Glory, Four Years Strong, Wonder Years

Hardcore = Trapped Under Ice, Backtrack

Mixed = Title Fight, etc.

I know that's a pretty all over the place explaination, but I want to have sort of a unique sound when it comes to poppunk hardcore. So you play bass, can you sing backup? I have a pretty good voice and I dabble in lyrics, so my best fit would be as lead singer. I have some pretty solid energy on (and off) the stage, and I think my presence would have the best reception with the crowd.

That being said, I would like to have tryouts. If we don't mesh as a band, it ain't worth the music, son. The tentative title of this project is "Wholesale Swallow" or "Borderline Rich, Baby!" The first is better if our sound takes a darker turn, the second if our sound takes a brighter turn. Feel me? If you have any suggestions, I'd DEFINITELY consider it.

Okayy... alright. How bout you learn D cord, and the rest should be simple. Once you can handle D, you can pretty much handle it all (look for tutorials on youtube... pretty much how i learned bass haha). Also, if you can write lyrics too thatd be dope - we can toss ideas on here (ill write most lyrics). Id like to have the songs mostly written before we practice so when we practice the songs will be mostly written and its pretty much just a long easy jam sesh. Sound dope?

ive been shredding on the drums for 10+ years, would love to hang and jam. havent had someone to jam with in forever. PM me and im down.

Yes yes yes. Post some samples on here, man. I want to do this THIS summer, like in July, but I want to have some idea of what we're going for with the tone and style of the band.

 I think I do want to call it Borderline Rich, Baby!, so what do you guys think of that? (I like the excited title with the exclamation point, and that it sounds fun, but our sound might end up darker, especially after reading Mark's sad-ass lyrics. I love Cop-Hugger's sound, but it more rawer than what I want. I want a clean radio sound, but a very Title Fighty, hard-hitting sound to it). )

I mean i'm open minded and willing to see where this band goes(presuming the above message is an envite?) i think it  could be really interesting; especially considering, i think, i have very different influences than you. 

I work and go to school but i do have a somewhat flexible schedule so lets talk and make this thing a thing:lol:

is mark (beaton) in this band? his lyrics are cool but sad and he posted he plays bass and you guys posted  you need a bass
