Scene Style Empty
PostSubject: Scene Style   Scene Style EmptyFri May 31, 2013 2:45 pm

Okay, so I know alot of peeps won't agree with this, but I do think a large part of ANY scene, punk, pop punk, hardcore, ANYthing, is style. I'm very into this (I may be a little metro, but I am the LEAST gay person if you knew me in person, not that there's ANYTHING wrong with being gay) and I want to know what products, brands, etc. You guys wear. On the street, you'd usually see me wearing:

- Snapback (probably NFG or Title Fight! if I'm not already wearing my TF backpack, haha)

- Title Fight backpack

- Skinny black jeans (no socks)

- Defend Pop Punk MO shirt

- Big white Nikes (no socks)

- A little pom ade in my hair to keep my long ass bangs out of my face (need a haircut!)

Boom. Thoughts? What would I catch you wearing in YOUR scene!

(This thread is NOT just for pop-punkers - anyone!)

I look like the most normal person you can imagine(or I could imagine actuality). I have no tats, I very rarely wear band Ts, everything about my appearance is plain, plain, plain, and indistinguishable on purpose. I've always hated the concept of scene fashion though I've been playing in punk bands for 20+ years. I think it takes away from where the focus should really be, the music. My 2 cents.

Yes, I realize that many people in the Scene don't like the style aspect. I do. It's an inportant part of all of this, to me. Not to you, maybe not to anyone on this board; I have only gotten a few replies so far, after all. But I really like style and shit, and I attribute many of the way I dress to the subculture I ascribe to: pop punk. I don't mean to offend you, but can't this just be a thread for people who ARE interested in style, not an outlet for those who are NOT to express their views?

Yup, yup, and I honestly wasn't trying to be a hater. I was just interjecting my opinion on the topic. Everyone I'm friends with has some sort of "scene style", I'm just a complete odd ball in that even though my life revolves around punk and hardcore, I don't dress like it at all. So basically, yeah, carry on, wasn't trying to be jerk or judge, just putting my opinion that no one agrees with out there.

My bad, dude. I just got a little apprehensive there. I've had bad experience on boards before, so I'm always very weary of potential criticisms, but I totally get your jive. I should'nt've have freaked on you like that. But... Normal's a style, too, dontchaknow Smile

Dude, that's sick though. At least you stick to your style. I was dressed so ghetto today it was hilarious. I had on a long white tee, kinda baggy jeans (not really, but anything looks baggy compared with the skinnies I'm always reppin) but the funny thing is I'm Latino (dunno if you knew that) so I looked super gangsta. I was always wearing my snapback

Levi jeans and a J Crew plaid. I always look like a dork and I've never dressed gangy so I have that going for me at least.
